How to deal with the air leakage of the dust collector in the woodworking workshop?
06 Oct 2024
The dust collector in the woodworking workshop is welded manually. Due to more or less air leakage at the welding point, the gas temperature in the bag chamber is lower than the dew point, and the filter bag will be damp, causing the dust to adhere to the filter bag in a sticky manner instead of loosely, blocking the fabric holes, causing the dust removal to fail, and the pressure drop of the dust collector is too large, and it cannot continue to operate. Some bags are sticky and cannot remove dust.
To prevent air leakage, keep the temperature of the gas in the dust collector and its system higher than its dew point by 25-35℃ (such as the dew point temperature of the kiln-grinding machine is 58℃, and the operating temperature should be above 90℃) to ensure the good use of the dust filter bag.
The measures are as follows:
1. Add a raw material storage shed. In woodworking production, the water content of various raw materials, fuels and mixed materials varies. If they are placed in a fixed storage shed to prevent rain, the water content of the materials can be greatly reduced. This is an effective measure to reduce the moisture content of the materials. This situation is quite common in woodworking factories in southern my country, but some material storage sheds are too small, while others are not, which makes it difficult to use bag dust collectors.
2. Reduce air leakage. The air leakage of the gaps in the dust collector body in the woodworking workshop and the air leakage of the bag dust collector body should be controlled below 3%. The air leakage of process equipment in the dust collector system, such as the closed ash discharge valve at the discharge port of the ball mill, the air leakage of the closed star-shaped discharger under the dust collector, and the flange connection of the pipeline, etc.
3. The dust-containing gas should be evenly distributed in the single-machine pulse dust collector to prevent eddy currents from occurring at the corners, which will reduce the amount of gas passing through here and form local low temperatures, resulting in air leakage problems.
4. Take appropriate heating measures. For example, if a far-infrared electric heater or electric heater is installed in the dust collector, or a radiator is added in the bag chamber, the flue gas temperature of the main machine can be appropriately increased. Strengthen the temperature monitoring of the dust collector and the dust removal system to master the use conditions of the bag dust collector and prevent air leakage.
5. Ensure heat preservation and rain protection for dust collectors, pipelines, and other related places. Practice has proved that good heat preservation measures can make the temperature difference between the inlet and outlet of bag dust collectors very small, which is an effective measure to prevent air leakage.
